Young Leaders Advisory Board

In honor of FPA’s 30th Anniversary in 2007, the Ed Fund formed a Young Leaders Advisory Board (YLAB) that is made up of talented, intelligent, and enthusiastic women and men in their 20’s and early 30’s who are passionate about driving the pro-choice movement into the future. This advisory board is devising and implementing ways to engage more young people in the pro-choice movement so that the Ed Fund and FPA along with their allies can remain strong for the next 30 years.

About the YLAB

The Ed Fund’s YLAB members will enhance the integration of issues important to the sexual and reproductive health of young women and men into the work and mission of the Ed Fund and FPA.  Advisory Board members will also create and implement strategies to engage more pro-choice young adults, including high school and college-aged individuals, in reproductive health and rights advocacy.

  • Attend annual meeting of Young Leaders Advisory Board.
  • Participate in periodic conference calls and listserv discussions about recruiting and engaging young people.
  • Recruit at least 15 other young people to join our Action Network (e-mail list that receives legislative updates and action alerts).

Desired qualifications:

  • Pro-choice
  • Around the age range of 20-35
  • Displays commitment to protecting and expanding access to a full range of reproductive health services
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills

Benefits:

  • Develop leadership and advocacy skills
